ImageWe recently conducted some research examining what are the biggest problems facing workers today. We asked four hundred UK workers to rank in order of severity what problems caused them the most stress in the workplace. The list in rank order, makes interesting reading:
  1. Lack of or poor communication
  2. Conflict with other workers / managers

  3. Bullying by managers

  4. Lack of clear goals / work objectives

  5. Poor performance by other workers

  6. Time pressures (too much work too little time)

  7. Constant priority changes

  8. Poorly defined job role

  9. Lack of support from management

  10. Lack of leadership

  11. Lack of resources

  12. Poor wages

  13. Boring work

Additionally when asked which of the above would make them resign their current job the four hundred respondents made little change to the list:

  1. Bullying by managers

  2. Conflict with other workers / managers

  1. Lack of or poor communication

  1. Poor performance by other workers

  2. Constant priority changes

  3. Poorly defined job role

  5. Poor wages

  6. Time pressures (too much work too little time)
